Bloom Woolen Yarns

Bloom Woolen Yarns was founded in early 2021 by Lisa Fortin from Growing a Bunch Farm.  Wanting to make more yarn than her family's flock of Shetland sheep could produce, Lisa reached out to farms in and around Western Massachusetts hoping to find some wool that was going unused.  Since then, Bloom has sent 1000's of pounds of local fiber to the mill to be processed and sold as yarn and other woolen products.

Bloom creates high-quality yarns made in small batches from wool grown and spun in and around the Western Massachusetts Fibershed.  Lisa works with each mill to design each yarn based on what she feels the particular fiber "aspires to be."  She naturally and organically dyes the mill-spun skeins in small batches creating lush, lofty and colorful yarns that are a pleasure to work with.  When you purchase local yarn you support small family-owned farms and help preserve New England’s enduring textile tradition.
